Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why use a collection agency?

Because third party intervention works.  Consumers will often pay a collection agency over the original creditor mainly due to the psychological effect generated by using an outside party to collect the debt.  Also, many consumers are wary of the impact a collection account can have on their credit rating.
Q: What can our legal department do for you?
Our accomplished in-house attorney, who specializes in collection and collection litigation, is ready to step in when letters and phones are not successful.  While some agencies may charge their clients an administrative fee for this service, DCS Financial, Inc., does not.
Q: What is our process for collection?

Once the claim is forwarded to DCS for processing, a default letter is initiated the next business day.  Our efforts continue through a series of timely phone contacts and impact letters until the account is resolved through full payment, payment arrangements, settlement or litigation, if necessary.
Q: How quickly will DCS collect the money?

Claims are entered into our system within the first 24 hours or next business day, and the first notice is sent immediately.  Calls and additional letters follow.  Some debts are collected within the first week, while others may take some time due to skips (unable to locate the consumer) and consumers who dispute the debt or who are simply uncooperative.
